When people ask what we do and we say, “we are Doulas,” they often reply with, “oh yeah, like a Midwife.”
No, sorry, no it's not the same...but it’s an honest misunderstanding.
We know many people don’t know the difference, which is why we are here to set it straight!
Midwives are healthcare providers. You can choose to have a midwife actually deliver your baby.
Doulas are about preparation, education, and support during prenatal, birth, and postpartum time periods.

We love midwives! We work with midwives when families choose to use them for delivery.
You can absolutely have a midwife AND a doula because we do completely different things!
