Fast Snacks for Nursing Moms



It’s a scenario familiar to all nursing moms: you sit down to nurse and, just as you get yourself comfortable and the baby properly latched, you are struck with an amazing thirst and hunger! No way you are going to disturb the baby, but you could really use a snack RIGHT NOW.


Let’s talk about some great grab and go snacks for nursing moms!


Try to make your snacks nutritious and consider eating every 2-4 hours throughout the day to keep from getting too hungry. Nursing moms need an extra 300-500 calories a day, and those can be hard to get in, especially during your first weeks home with your baby.


Consider having a basket of non-refrigerated ones beside your go-to nursing spot and a mom-only tub of snacks in the fridge.
